organic farming
Organic farming is an especially natural, gentle and sustainable form of agriculture. The entire production process is governed by organic regulations (in Germany, Öko-Verordnung). Chemical and synthetic pesticides, mineral and nitrogen fertilizers and genetic engineering are excluded, acceptable, natural conditions in the rearing of farm animals are emphasized. The objective is to conserve resources and biodiversity. Conformance with organic regulations is inspected at least twice a year by a licensed control organization. Dussmann Service runs many catering operations with organic certification including child-care facilities, schools, staff canteens, seniors' facilities and medical institutions.
