induction technology

Induction heating is the process of heating metal through electromagnetic induction. An induction heater underneath glass ceramic produces an electromagnetic field which passes through the glass ceramic and causes the metal of the pot to heat extremely quickly. Energy consumption during induction heating is much lower than during conventional methods. Further advantages are the low risk of burning and the even distribution of heat. Induction technology functions only using cooking utensils with a ferromagnetic base (steel or special alloys).

Induction technology is also used for regeneration of portioned meals in hospitals and seniors' facilities. Special plates with a ferromagnetic core or coating are used. Adjacent plates with cold foods such as salads or desserts remain cold.
