Foods can hinder the inflammation process which takes place in some illnesses such as rheumatism and multiple sclerosis. For example, the fatty acid in fish oil, eicosapentanoic acid, is anti-inflammatory whereas arachidic acid in products of animal origin favor inflammation.

For this reason, it is better if sufferers follow a vegetarian nutrition plan:

  • very little meat, sausage and egg yolk
  • daily consumption of fat-reduced milk products to ensure sufficient calcium intake
  • use of high quality oils (olive, rapeseed, linseed, walnut, soya)
  • fish
  • vitamin-rich foods
